Why?

What do you like?

Do we love dramatic horse poses?

It all started when I was playing with AI art tools like DALL-E and StableDiffusion in 2023, exploring stereotypes of dressage horses (another story!). I noticed how often we are drawn to horses with dramatically arched necks. Is this a modern preference, or something deeper?

That’s when I stumbled upon Kees Van Tilburg’s incredible archive of equestrian statues from around the world. Naturally, I fell down the research rabbit hole. Now I’m curious: do people have an instinctive preference for certain horse poses in art?

If you’ve got a minute, click the Survey 1 button below—you’ll see 10 statue images, and all you have to do is tell me whether you like the way the horse is portrayed. Want to help solve this little mystery? Let’s find out!
